"Art has always had a pull on me. When I am not painting, I am still always looking for shapes and forms and themes. When I sit down to paint I start with a few colors and keep going until I am attracted to some form it's taking and only after that do I start directing it. I often do not name my paintings until they have been hanging around for a while and I have a good feel for how to articulate what I'm trying to say. I find myself inextricably attaching human expression to my paintings. My paintings often have physical human expressions as the starting point and when that is not the case, the title is often candid. I try to paint or draw or connect to this part of me every day." ~ Megan Bastey
Please note: a portion of the sale of my paintings exhibited at Corniche during the month of July will be donated to help support the Linc Social Club at Motivational Services, Inc. in Augusta, Maine.
